Busy feeding among the trees,
unaware of danger in the leaves.
Main concern is living life,
ignoring thoughts of any strife.
Never exposed to what may come,
in the rays of the early sun.

Leaves do glow in speckled light,
hiding a shape from any sight.
Markings blend with golden hue,
diamond shaped as it pursues.
Gliding and stopping in the seek,
triangular head lifting toward the meek.

Frozen in fear, becomes the prey,
aware it looks at its final day.
The leaves erupt in sudden boil,
as blood is spread upon the soil.
The hunter is caught in talons of steel,
becoming the hunted for the eagles meal.

Enjoyed this - especially the image of:

"The leaves erupt in sudden boil,
as blood is spread upon the soil."

Well I looked to the sky for my anthem
The words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch
The beauty that I've seen in you

Great imagery filled with volumes of truth.  Too many times we are unaware and let our guard down.  I think this week's evernts shows we need to always be on guard.  Nicely done.

All you folks humble me with your so kind words..It is just they are men and woman, rabid in their own sickness and hate, while we are a nation united in a common cause. The greatest nation this world has ever known. Yamato said it when he sent the planes to bomb Pearl Harbor, "I fear we will have woken the sleeping giant."..The giant is again well woken and beware to the ones who have incurred his wrath..God Bless America and may peace come once again to a gentle people..Logan, whose gentle smile has tightened into a grim line once more.

Sweet One,
You know I missed you, right? I love this. It strikes against my heart like all of your work, but this one will always be like no other of yours now. I have been hoping you are well and settled again now.
