darling

I tried to dodge the fire
but couldn't avoid the topple
I was crumpled beneath tons of rubble
and didn't make it to the streets

I see you praying fervently
and i am very sorry
i didn't make it back home
Of course you are now hoping for the best
and i dread to see your reaction
when they break the news

darling

my life got shortchanged
and I never told you enough
how much I loved you
I am angry and sad and frustrated
but that is not my concern now

darling

Don't open your heart to hatred
Don't be devoured by bitterness
Be friends still with Siti and Ali
Don't shut yourself to life
Seek justice, not revenge for me

Live your life as well as you possibly can
Don't grieve too much for me
Our time together may be short
but at least,
we got to spend it together

darling

may God bless and heal you

That is one of my prayers also...these criminals don't represent their entire ethnicity - assuming it was not a homegrown operation, which doesn't seem likely...

sigh...this gave me tears...today I watched people in New York with pictures of their loved ones..desperately hoping, desperately searching. I saw people of all ethnicities - including Arabs. I couldn't watch anymore and had to turn it off...this is just...well..I can find no words for it - but the ones you have written are heart wrenching...

i know nothing of the pain and anguish the US must be feeling now

please delete my poem if it is deemed to be hurtful in its naivety

Very nice thoughts...I think the right word is accountability...those responsible must be held accountable for their actions...James

written from the heart, and I do pray with you that grief and sadness don't turns into hatred feelings....madness can change human beings in animals....I have seen that in my homeland....and in other parts of the world.
Let us hope and pray that the leaders of our world take the right decision how to defeat terrorism.
