Life is like a chess game ..
Decisions made are like the pieces played on the board,
Many moves lead to losses,
Some mistakes result in victories,
That’s not the case for me.
In memory I vividly see the pastures of green…,
But kept away from the promise land by a barrier… what does it all mean…?
In actuality things are not what they seem,
Jewels from the earth are mere rocks,
But worth is placed upon them by the way they gleam…
I’m simple; all I ask for is a beam of light to lead me to my dreams,
So close to completion but so far from feeling whole….
Time is running out.. I am for whom the bell tolls…
Every hour of every day that I take a breath…..
Depletes the sand in the hourglass..
Damn, one less minute I have left.
A chess game.. A perfect comparison to my life.. A game of complex strategies & planning moves…
Taking chances in the game of life where I have everything to lose
