As it all crumbled

But I also hope you saw

Of the disbelieving tragedy
People Helping People

Holding back the hands
Emerging from a shattered land
Holding each other up

Tears remaining colorless
Blood remaining red
Bonds being made in the dust
In trust of fellow man
As we scream in harmony
Of the pain
Being all the same
Except for you

Be it known
We have called all Captains of Life

And feel our way in Navigation
By a much higher power
Than yours that must slay it

Your death sentence has made us stronger

I saw it all time and time again and heard wonderful stories of true heroism. One that stands out for me was a man telling how he carried a wheelchairbound lady down 68 flights of stairs to safety, a truly wonderful example of humanity. Something good always seems to come out of these horrible events and often it is the amount of compassion shown by total strangers. We all have the ability to help others and it certainly shone through yesterday with what we saw on the television. Take care....Sue

Indeed if their associates were watching, they would have seen the love, heroism, helpfulness etc rising out of the dust of destruction. They may have thought they had a victory on their hands, but after seeing such gifts of humanity on the telly they must realise they failed..

Regina, it brings tears to my eyes to see the love and concern of total strangers in this terrible time. I hope the people responsible for this horror see this too. Showing them that you are a nation that cannot be broken easily.
