Deep in the heart

our tears flow freely
our heads we proudly hold high
our cheeks glistening
our inner strength comes from God
our resolve tested once more

the land of the free
attacked by cowardly curs
the home of the brave
shining beacon of freedom
shines all the brighter right now
~*~
we shall bury dead
we shall heal the wounded ones
we shall carry on
we shall heal our broken hearts
we shall not ever forget
