He said he didn't come
to offer peace,
only raw truth
& when he spoke,
I cried
for his voice was like
crashing thunder
& the screeching  of
metal against metal

his words seemed to
peel layers from
my heart & tho his
eyes were gentle,
he remained hard,
unmoving

he was the challenger
daring heros to pick
up their swords
the lover & the hater
of things men cannot
fathom
He whispers wrath
ablaze in hazel depths
inspiring fear with
beauty

He said that he didn't
come to offer peace
just his version of
the truth to any
who could stand it...
