Oh God,They have taken cowardly liberty
Raining innocent lives away
In the face
Of our Lady Looking on.
Every race, creed, and religion
Reduced to ashes at her feet.

They stole our wings!
To strike down mere symbols
Regarding not the cost of lives
What could twist the mind
So to steer that course of flight?

Terrorism
The demon of destruction
The thrill seekers of ungodly fear
Has just made the world
Scream into the winds of Why.

Hear our cries oh Lord!
Prepare our nation, the world
For the joining of hands
As we seek out the faceless
Across the land

Let not a man, woman or child
Go unnoticed in their expense
Let the fear be turned
On the deliverers of such evil
For their rain will come
If the world must drown them
In swells of tears.

Let no one else die or strike a hand
In indifference.
May we see that enough is enough
And fear no man, but the loss of him
If he is truly a man.
The harvest of brotherhood, and sisterhood
Is ripe, in the sadness of coming moon
And waking of new day.

What rock have they been under
To make them believe
The senseless, despicable act
Would bleed anything other than blood?

The suffering is grand
The anguish of loved ones lost
Many will sleep alone tonight
Lift them to a region
Where they can find hope
Allow us to catch the air of angels
As we try to comfort the cries
For we are powerless
At this tragic time
I, being not ashamed to say it.

As I believe a great Nation
Has been shaken.
But the world is now on it's feet
Rendering a heartfelt sorrow
For no one is safe
From this act of violence

As Our Lady still stands.
However she would hang
Her head and weep
I imagine her stance
Now one of constant vigilance
Tear stained, and blemished
In remembrance of the lost
But never forgotten

It took me ten minutes to get through this poem, I started crying half-way through it.
Crying because there is nothing I can do..crying because I wish there was something I could do..So many people are gone and left behind loved ones..These people woke up this morning and went to work like normal but this time some of those people didnt make it out alive : (

Thank you all for gathering here with me. I too want to help as prayers keep spilling out. This is all I can do besides try to reach out to others. A crying day, a trying day, and now a very new morn of continuance. God give us strength. Hugs and prayers to all.  Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Regina

Dear Regina, in disbelief last night I saw the images on TV, showing the trade towers, and the damage which something had made. To wake this morning to the news of terrorism was unbelievable. Here in Australia we are all feeling the pain of your great nation, you are so far away, yet we feel numbed that this could happen at all. Cruelty with total disregard to life we have seen at play here, all our wishes go out to you all, with hope that there is no more terrorism to still come. May the source be found and all involved pay the cost of such an act.
I hope your lady stands tall for many centuries still to come.
Stay well Regina.

I just want everyone here to know, I appreciate the way we are clinging to each other. This is a tragedy that is bringing the world to the doorsteps of everyone's heart. I thank each of you for caring and sharing, for I believe I would lose my mind if I couldn't spill out right now. This has meant so much to me. It has strengthened my ability to pray and hope for those who have lost their loved ones. Thank you all.

Sincerely,
Regina

Beautifully penned I must say..  Thankyou.

Also I'm not an American but I must admit I breathed a sigh of relief that the Lady of Liberty was unhurt ....

Regina
Such a moving picture you painted with your words. I am only one of many who will never forget the image of that plane as it ploughed into the trade centre building.  The people here in Australia, as with other parts of the world are in total shock and disbelief as to this horrendous atrocity that has happened and all our thoughts and with our American friends in this awful time, even though we are so far away.  I guess we feel a little helpless as the distance between our countries is so great but I can assure you that we are with you in spirit.  This was written so very well Regina and summed up the feelings perfectly.
Take care......Sue
