It was chill this morning
As I stripped night's clothes
And stepped into hot shower
To wash away salty memories
Of other evenings

I always think of you

Shared showers
Scrubbing of backs with soapy slidings
To cuddled fronts

Hurried drying with towels soft
As we ran laughing to jump
Back under covers to keep the chill
From catching us

Late Autumn leaving breath
To form clouds as heated passions
Created warm fronts of our own

It was chill this morning
And when I stepped from shower
The towel was not as inviting
Nor did covers beckon
Tented warming

Shivering
I wrapped myself in routine
Forgetting the faucet dripped
Unless tightened carefully

A wonderful vision of a very emotional and bittersweet time in life - One we've all unfortunately seen.  Nice job, as usual..

this is a wonderful, magnificently woven piece...given the time and day of posting, I'm curious as to whether it was written just before posting

I find myself wondering if the 'chill' that tainted the usual emotion was created by the pain of the black Tuesday's news

Once again, Captain, you've managed to bring about a story - your imagination, Sir...is remarkable, indeed....
