Uito of the Mosque Uito is quite eccentric in all her undertakings, she’s exotic and quixotic, a queen in the making. She drinks only red and only after dusk, from a goblet by her bed; wears only human musk. She’s known to flit about a girl about town on a nightly scout, when the sun’s gone down. She spurns citrus’ scent, loves to bathe in calm pools, spreads trouble with intent and collects ruby jewels. Named for far away regions, of the mosque, is Uito she’s fond of rainy seasons, the always hungry Mosquito. © 2001 Corinne Bailey |

Thanks, Nan, Voiceless and Marge! Got the idea after passing a sign for Mosquito Road, thought how odd the spelling of the word looked... Cor |
