In the winds of Cherokee song

0 posted 2001-09-10 11:37 AM

Walking These Waters

There will be a time when the river becomes heaven's sea
Rising to the echoes of fallen egos against the other side
This world will once again know the heart of the Cherokee
As their journey with our maker strengthens native pride

Equality is mirrored in the reflection of each open hand
As the seeds of the Lobelia give the freedom of new breath
This mighty circle will interlace the fingers of this land
Giving re-birth to sacred inspiration against eyes of death

Windows of the flute will shatter with the morning wind
Stairways of the drum will spiral in celebration of dance
The shackles shall be broken as warriors of peace descend
Joining hands of dignity in an embrace of destiny's chance

The struggles within shadows reclaim the spirit of Galilee
The legends of yesterday inspire the wings of today's voice
These arms hold true to their ghosts in this ritual of decree
Walking the waters toward heaven upon my quested choice

Mark Christopher

**Just wanted to stop in and say HI to all and let you know my job has taken me offline again, I'm sorry to not be able to get in here and do replies,
but I wanted to let everyone know why I was absent once again.
I miss everyone and will try and get back in when ever possible.
thanks,
Mark.

I have found in you ... a reflection of me ...
and a path to the peace I have sought.

tried to write a letter
to tell you how I feel,
but all I kept on writing
was slipping on the tears from the day...

well you made it real hard to leave off lines, there are so many very very cool images and intentions here....
With every new path traveled on your quest you take us on a journey of vision and wisdom.
This one breathes of promise and of the pride found in an ancestory rich in tradition and heritage.
Nothing cliche' here my friend..and youve wrapped these images in your gift of cadence and your passion for words that paint pictures.
I dont care what you gotta do to post...
walk on your lips... I just want to be able to read your souls poetry

You know that I can't see your name and not read, my friend.  And I'm never dissapointed.  Wonderful pride you show in such incredible people.  I'm so proud of the fact that I possess native american ancestry.  Beautiful poetry, Mark, I enjoyed it greatly.

Your ability to paint with words is exceeded only by your dedication... and you share both beautifully in this, cowboy. Every line is perfect.

I am so glad that 'suthern' brought this one back up, as I missed it in all the madness and insanity of the past 2 weeks. It is very uplifting and comforting.
