    Wet Salt

yes, I can depend on you
I know right where you are
if I need or want anything
I can call you at the bar
you are closer to a bottle
than you have ever been to me
for I am just flesh and bone
a liquid mistress sets you free
thought my love could change you
but it will never be my turn
I’m never going to be first picked
by now I should have learned
numerous lines of good excuses
and they have always been my fault
this time I’ve learned my lesson
drowning in a puddle of wet salt

You've captured perfectly the working of an alcoholic mind.  Run fast, run far, don't look back.
