Don’t Tempt Me

Don’t drag me from dullsville
into your world of reverie,
with lush traps of tapestries,
chimeras, darkly sweet,
shaking me with a phantom kiss
fleetingly proffering bliss.

Please, do not sweep over me
with creeping jellyfish wisps,
stinging lashes of ghostly whips,
massaging blind memories,
the ones I hold clandestine
intertwined, yours and mine.

Never will I come willingly
on airy carpets of your magic,
it is only more of your tricks,
to float along climactically,
tasting that singular taboo –
you damned chocolate bar, you!

great lyrical write with fabulous images....

yeah, i thought the last line humorous, but i'd like to see a substituted serious last line because this piece speaks the title so well on many different much more serious levels
