Take Me Into the Middle of Friday Night How can I begin the true of Friday night when the crickets are humming and make me remember all the best and the worst summers with their constancy? How can I open this screen door and feel all the need that is in the black cool of Friday night when love is all over the city pouring its noisy sigh and the hills are covered with dark headlights of love?. I feel Friday night true of holding hands and the movie only flicking like a theatre of candles and the stars, oh, they are coupled and smooching in rows of love that cannot wait. Take me into the middle of Friday night when again time ripples with possibility and music plays across cushioned car’s seat where love is saved by changing gears and first is too high and third too low and in neutral you fly, baby, you fly. Do I grieve a lost summer when I waited and the window left you behind somewhere where youth is just hormones full of longing? No, but How can I begin the true of Friday night when the crickets are humming and make me remember all the best and the worst summers with their constancy? Martie, I now know what WY meant when he said you wrote with such flair...this is just lovely and I shall save this one also as I want to be able to read it over and over... Maureen "The worst prison would be a closed heart". |
