He left me a gift by the door The box was wrapped beautifully To my surprise, not a thing inside Empty, like his emotions for me I put all our photos in the box and closed the lid Trying desperately to forget the memories Of all the things we did Grabbing a lighter Knowing just what to do I set it on fire In hopes you feel me burning you There was a pic of you smiling Where and when was that? Scream, Scream as the flames eat you You always liked your meat burnt black My world revolved around you Until you kicked me away like a stray dog What a subtle way you have To show me where I belong Your gift wasnt what I expected It got me pissed It wasnt the cheap amount It's your insensitive thought that didn't count You didn't think of how I'd feel After I opened that box I knew your love wasnt real I'm at the pit of the ocean That's what I get for thinking Only my desire to live Has kept me from sinking |

I lOved the Poem .. your use of words is incredible... was this poem speaking of a true event?? if so .. you dont need a guy like that in your life... keep writing |

SEA: Thank you for reading my poem (( HUGS BACK )) GhostWriter_6: Well, it was about an ex bf who broke up with me for no apparent reason. I kept asking him for a reason but he would never give me one. I thought I at least deserved some kind of explanation as to why he was breaking my heart..So the idea of an empty box came to my head! Thanks for the compliments. ((hugs)) |
