The suits are at it again Deciding life or death The gravy stains of glutton Beget their ties That bind the boardroom I bet they all wear boxers Starched heavy So they always feel like new money While their hands greed on old Passed down from those That were lucky to have underwear The nodding bobbers and the Bobbing nodders The schooled from hard cash Knocking the mahogany table Not for luck They don't need any But just once I wish they knew how it felt To be crotchless, exposed And that table the only avenue Of protection, discretion While (Someone) Mysteriously picked up their silk suits From the cleaners And disposed of them in bon fire fashion A farewell wiener roast While they sit clad in ties and smiles, red faced In the glow of Progress Right outside the window Of a ticker tape parody Shredding documents such as Company Policy? No harm wished Just Mediocrity Toasted In highball paper cups While the dancer arrives Transgendered to a perfect Liza Doin Minnelli on Mahogany My last paycheck well spent. |

Well done! You put me in mind of a favored poet here - not quite like her, but enough so that I can admire you both, and extend my applause! |

ah... this one lets us see from the eyes of the speaker perceptions and hints of feeling... very nicely penned... nice indeed. |

Loved it! I took a week off work because I was so dangerously close to speaking my mind. It hasn't helped (the time) I'll probably yet be doing something else in the near future. The new General manager told all the salesmen last Saturday (I fortunately not in attendance) to "surrender" to his way. Enough to wish socialism wasn't such a failure. |

What an adamant commentary with a multitude of layers -- each one goading a perception to dig a little deeper and connect another dot of analogy... Further reafirmation as to why I'll never go back into an office environment. Wonderfully written! -MVS "It's all in the details -- the Big Picture always takes care of itself." |

Wow, this really speaks volumes. Very deep. Very well done. What a great read If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

excellent writing! I know the suits...starched boxers and all. I'd love to see how their thoughts would change being dressed in bluejeans and tank-tops...very well said. |

I am assuming this poem is about downsizing and if it is I must say how unfortunate it is that the one's that go are usually the heart of the company and the one's that stay are the one's gouging the company...and they get bonuses for reducing the work force...James |

Sunshine: I'm getting that a lot lately. I need to find her. Funny how we sometimes do not recognize our own! Thank you so much for reading! Cpat: Just lil oh me Thanks so much C. RSWells: It is a connection! Houston We have a problem. How the heck can we go to the moon when you jack our rocket with cheap octane? A tongue is hard to hold! Good luck Mark: I'll clean your fridge for a small fee! Thank you dear Sir for your replies. Tracey: Thank you so much for tolerating my daily dish of barbecue! Balladeer: Yeah! But I've seen them. Even their blue jeans have creases and they swerp when they walk. Doreen: Gosh! I'm speechless. Thank you for the great applause! I too am guilty. No hard feelings though. I'll catch you too. Just slow, I am. So glad to meet you! James: Exactly! The ones on the top of the ladder, kick you down and send you packing for exerting their energy. And they always look glorious with their head in the clouds. But someday, they will eat dust like the rest of us. The circle is large but still a circle. Thanks for stopping in! Sincerely, Regina |
