Sometimes in the early evening
sitting chin resting on fingers
elbows resting on knees
on the top porch step
I remember you walking through the gate

and sometimes
I have to admit
that even then
I knew it was only a matter of time

Well done!

How nicely written Duncan. You speak volumes in so few sentences. SO well done.

That nagging doubt, that fear. I wonder does it interfere? Good write with few words.

Time our faithful companion/enemy. This reminds me of fishing calmly, quietly, waiting to catch that fish. Love is like that sometimes and as complicated.

awareness of
the transitory nature of things
can give us cause to mourn
or make us more thankful
for the time we have

it's a difficult place to be
either way

nice work, Duncan
