Pink

The sun at dusk
Decided to hide
Its orange-red face.
Slipping behind clouds
Magically changing them
From fluffy white to pink!
Pink like carnival candy floss
Pink like a puppy's tongue
Pink like strawberry ice cream
Pink like a pop star's lipstick
Pink like a baby's bottom
Pink like a prom carnation
Pink like sticky bubble gum
Pink like Aretha's cadillac
Pink like the hearts in Lucky Charms
There is probably more
But what makes me glow
Is the pink that I blush
When you smile at me.

What a pretty pink perky one!! Picked me up, it did!! I love some of those same pink things myself, and yes, I heard that in some places the sunset did turn everything pink last evening. What a happy write!! Enjoyed!

I think you went a little over board with the pink metaphors.Other than that I liked the imagery of the poem.

Pretty in Pink Nightshade! I love color and you captured pink in the loveliest shade. Wonderfully bright and sweet as cotton candy!
