Acting

More than anything
she wanted to go
to acting school.
Oh she knew exactly
all the reasons why.
She wanted to act like
Brad Pitts and Brando.
She wanted to be the new
Julia Roberts and Bardot.
Sometimes just thinking
of it all made her
break down and cry
and for that she
didn't understand why.
For it would take
months of study and
years of unrest
before she would
come to realize
that not all actors
and actresses can
pass the screen test.

Yeah so true James!  But listen what is accomplished if one doesn't try to fulfill their dreams.....If it doesn't work out then move on to the next best thing. One thing is for sure is that another person can't make someone be what they're not!

I believe we should always try to follow our dreams....or one day we will ask ourselves 'what if'?   Good write.  Enjoyed!

I agree with ET and Enchantress, follow those dreams and never wonder "what if".

Enjoyed reading it

Alas, only the top 2% ever make it near the top. The rest of us are happy  only to have tried.  We make our dreams real and reaching out for the brass ring is the most important thing.  Your poem lets us see the mountain that must be climbed to get to this dream very well.
