       Deadly Affair

Whisper hello to your Toxic Mistress
As you sneak her past me
In your pocket
Offer her food and hot drink
Into which she pours dust
From her locket.
Dance round with your Toxic Mistress
To a tune that makes you
Feel young.
You remember the words
But it's hard to sing them
With your ever thickening tongue.
Bid farewell to your Toxic Mistress
As her paranoia seeps into your pores.
Thank God you can't see the horror
As you convulse from her wrath
On the floor.

Welcome to our family, Nightshade~

This was very powerful with an important message!  You use an excellent phrase "toxic mistress" - very clever.

I look forward to more poetry by you

Take care,
Melissa~

Vivid imagery that paints a sombre picture which would take the smile off many a face that comes face to face with reality. The Mistress wears many masks.. yet the addiction is powerful from all of them.  All want to dance to the tune of elusive youth, even if for but a moment.

Excellent use of personification and metaphore to create an emotionaly dark allegory.

I'd like to add my voice to also welcome you to Passions. Write on!

You have added new meaning to fatal attraction. The most deadly mushroom is a pale
frail thing that looks very much like a common edible one.Welcome to passions.I look forward to reading more of your poems.

Poets seem to find as many subjects as there are stars in the night.  It is always in a poets heart to put their thoughts sing.  You have done it well here.

Welcome to Passions as well. I admit I wasnt sure what the title of the poem was dragging me into, but I really can appreciate the message you have portrayed here. Great write.

this is a very good work
It is exact and clear
it is also extremely evocative of a scene .
Intuition tells me that it could not have been written other than from first hand experiance
it is very good
but you dont need me to tell you
You should know that already
