give love a chance, the fire's lit?

Can not you say just once I do
feel longing, needing, deep and true?
The pull we feel near magnetized
there really is no way to hide.

Can not you leave the rest behind
to take your soul mate, whom you bind
and give this passions it's true test-
You know we're different from the rest.

Can not you see how weak it is
to just remain in stifledness?
True strength it takes to make life real
not false tradition without feel.

Can not you just reach out your hand
and hold me close, I cannot stand
I need your arms to hold me tight
your choice, and you can make it right.

I can, and will, if you will call
to you I offer soul and all
I can, if you just meet me near
and listen; we have much to hear.

It's not too late, not truly so
though we have many miles to go
Can you not see how much it's worth
Can you not try to lift the curse?

I cannot do it without you
to no avail my efforts true.

Can not your body prove your heart

That's one powerful appeal, Sandra... Two very subjective things come to mind, however (if I may): 1) Anyone who needs to be convinced to such degree may "not be worth it" to begin with, and 2) Finding happiness only in another is a recipe for failure, for others are unpredictable and changing -- Happiness must start from within, and Lord knows, I understand from where you're coming, but these are lessons learned sooner or later, and it seems that learning them sooner will save much precious time better spent elsewhere... (Heart-wrenching poem, though...)

Mark, it would seem to be true, no one should need such a plea, however, SOME men are not as evolved as you nor understand their emotions as well.

And yes, you should be happy within yourself, and that is a goal I struggle to reach.
