SCIROCCO

Poetry once
enveloped us in the desert air.

I slipped your presence
over my body
like a dark robe hemmed
with  eternity.

Together, we flared
as one shadow on the sand.

Sun filled
the pale decanter
of my neck and shoulders
with a dreamer’s heat.

You sipped its sweetness
through my skin.
and we  swirled
in gusts of illusion

that blew, rippling time
with our fingerprints

They  never touched
the truth --

only grains of verse
and ashes of moonlight fallen
along the white dunes of  morning.

GwenDrina~
Oh my ... this is lovely, lovely~

And I greatly enjoyed the blend of photo and thoughts~

Also your employ of the variant Scirocco
gave the title that 'come in and see me' quality~
I did - and liked what I saw ~
Nicely done, poetess~

Gwen,
Excellent write, nice pic!
esp. liked:
"and we  swirled
in gusts of illusion"
Nice work.

(And you had me fooled, I didn't know there was a variant to 'sirocco'.)

This poem envelopes the reader and slips your presence over his mind.
