Atlas-(ANAT.)- The first cervical vertebra, which supports the head. He wearies in this hollow space in the statue that he built, while others see a Titan's face not the dwarf up on stilts. Just the echoes of a mortal amplified to impress, look behind the iron worked portal there's a man who's depressed. A Colossus in the harbor, bronze Apollo at Rhodes, whose wonder sinks in silted shore, whose time won't bear the load. An ediface in whose facade some others took their strength, not brave Prometheus nor god, his chain is at its length. But chained he is not free to roam too weak to hold the sky, yet strong enough to write poems amd man enough to cry. |

This really touched me. Very moving. So poignant. Tracey If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

I relate so well to these feeling... close friends always telling me.."you cant save the world" "you give too much of you away" hell most days I cant save myself...but there is the need ...fill the holes....... the last two lines of this heartfelt beauty touch me in places deep... one day a time, its all we can do. jm "Failure is not in the falling down ... |

Excellent expression, RS. Very well done! Sometimes we think we have to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, then one day we realize we are not strong enough and feel that we are close to becoming undone. Then one day we realize that we don't have to carry that load because nobody asked us to, it was something that we put upon ourselves. |
