This rainfall brings the notion of being near a shore, from attic drips it's potion inducing some to snore, for me it soothes emotion, a democratic pour for all must slow their motion regardless rich or poor. Timid tears on window pane which glaze a sort of veil, staccato tings sing refrain to heartbeat's lonesome trail, cloud sponge soothes a brow regains respite from past Loves failed, time is bought by gentle rain some moments peace prevails. So selfishly daydreaming while others pray for drought, on all the rain is streaming this storm's my insides out. I wield the flail of the lashing hail, and whiten the green plains under, and then again I dissolve it in rain, and laugh as I pass in thunder -The Cloud-Shelley [This message has been edited by RSWells (edited 08-31-2001).] |

Very nice. The clouds are dropping their heavy loads here in Interior Alaska today, and instead of complaining because it is raining, I chose to relax and read poetry. This poem was a good pick. |

Enjoyed this much...I too have a thing for storms and rain...and especially rain on a metal awning or roof---it's like native drums inciting me sometimes, it makes me so giddy. Very nice work here. ![]() |
