He watches me though eyes of sweet adore.
No light is dimmed before the passion fades.
The moon awaits its turn to shine in jade.
A walk tonight along love’s placid shore
brings peace to life within this soul’s lost core.
When nighttime shimmers reach our den’s cascade
they hold their sparks and pause until love’s made.
Oh I cannot contain my thirst for more.

In sheer delight each moment rides on high
completely satisfied with tide’s effect
on domination’s loss of power brands--
with love it now must utterly comply.
By dawn the spotlight shone on bliss direct
returns to splendor’s rightful owner’s hands.

-kh

(this is my attempt at the Italian/Petrarchan style sonnet    )

tried to write a letter
to tell you how I feel,
but all I kept on writing
was slipping on the tears from the day...

Kris this really is very well done...
the imagery is stunning and the emotions the images are wrapped in is pure poetry...
