The First Times in the vast of last’s revere I remember a long hall, your feet were shod in works’ attire yet silently you led the choir to a room you carried me mother’s face greeted we baby’s birth we honored in and lights were bright, not so grim as the next time we trod the hall, in memoriam I remember all the next first time we led the dearth for a loved man would leave this earth he waved high, then, led outside through a window I peeked, then cried grandfather, too soon gone a gentle man we honored him with lights too bright now gone dim, then on to the next time I trod the hall, in memoriam I remember all years had past, hardly a visit, then to the halls of walls and who breathed in them my birthing of child did not matter for I was not the one who later lost a dear one to a death a birth replaces the beds of less babies birth we honor in and lights are bright, not so grim as the next time we trod the halls, in memoriam I remember all next first time came too fast a babe’s grandfather gasped a last down the hall the families trod a man was gone he went with God birth and life we honored in lights each time we trod the hall, in memoriam I remember all I’ve even watched the walk of me taken down in history, the clip and clap of one’s shoe has been honored in a show or two to ER or a room of life to see a love or a wife to see a neighbor or a friend these visits grow and do not end life and death we honor all they’re not so grim when we trod the hall, in memoriam, remember all |

This is a soft reality of life and death. Only you could have penned it so gently. We each take those walks. Some dreaded, and lonesome down the hall, some exhillerated with new life. Thank you for sharing this. Sincerely, Regina |

Dear Sunshine, what a wonderful peace of life, I felt the sadness which must have brought the words to you, but never the less enjoyed the life's journey. Rick |

I've found that the journeys never end. . . they just have a lot of rest stops. . . wonderfully done my friend. . . you have an understanding that few do. . . ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
