Windows of the Soul

Windows of the soul slowly open
on the days we used to share,
breezes of yesterday flutter
curtains of yearning
as images drift
like the moving of dust motes
dancing in time’s eternal face.
Once again the wind blows stronger,
bringing your visage before my eyes,
older and wiser than as youths beyond,
years that had taken us distances far.

Not by distance threatened,
I take your hand
through the window.
With listening wealth I carve
dimensions out of time
to make a bridge.
Night is making music that sings me
crickets full of stars,
and your, oh so familiar eyes.

A spotlight of silvered moonbeam
highlights face and hair,
as the curtains part on the stage,
orchestrated by night life strumming
a plaintive song of love.
Once again we are together
crossing the bridge, your hand in mine.

I dance around your hum of tune,
and hear the ocean rush
with your laughter's splash.
Twirling with forever takes us
to the places we have been in heart,
across the sweep away of careless minutes hold,
committed again and again in cobalt,
with ink made from love's everlasting gold.

Bridge to eternity,
we walk there side by side.
Your eyes shine with melody played
of tunes from ancient days.
Mountain peak to beneath the sea,
it matters not to me,
as long as we stroll together,
once again, and free.

You both have entwined your words so wonderfully that we should care not who wrote what, but that you spoke, together...

and have provided a treasure for the rest of us....

Beautiful poem, and a theme to give hope to a lonely girl..
Truly I love the thought of a love from another time, and a reunion on this plane. Nothing could be better.

Tender and touching. This is a beautiful write.
The whole thing is dynamite together.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

Just cruising, and found a soulful poem I particularly like. A beautiful blend, this, and I wish there were more of such things.
