Fantasies Fantasy is the sand of a desert mirage A gentle wind blows The sand dances to my pleasure Sand dancing on a high Reality sets in The sand stings the eye If I could escape but no My life is my own So I’ll make it true Fantasies come as a golden treasure Teasing me with tantalizing pleasure But when the day is done I will be myself I will realize that it was Just a distraction When I grow old And look back at my life I would like to do it Without a serrated knife To lie to yourself Is to be a fool’s fool I’d like to smile in the mirror And see my heart smiling back [This message has been edited by shadow974 (edited 08-27-2001).] |

Interesting way of looking at the temptations that exist all around us. Yet you are right, at the end of the day or any period of time, the reflection looking back at us should be one, that we can love. |

I'm not sure if you are talking of fantasy or temptations...James |

I'm mainly talking about fantasies but they could someday become temptations that would then be very strong. Thanks for the comment James. Throw your heart out in front of you |

I'm sure that it will. . . I like this, I like the form that you've used here. . . gives it that "dreamy" quality that shows in the words that you've used. . . great job. . . ----------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

I especially love the part about not looking back with a serrated knife. Great poetry |

shadow......wonderful.....I enjoyed this much. Scent of Calm To breathe, To find release from all things both good and bad. Breathe deep the sweetness of clarity, The aroma of what it means, To truly know the person Behind the face looking back From your reflection. The scent of blissful calm deep within those eyes. The peace of spirit, mind and soul. After which serenity of this outer shell comes, Just comes. Breathe deep. Enotneicna SLR 1999 Many blessings Always Eno Words are my medicine. I'm slow, but glad I didn't miss this one. The greatest thing IS to look in that mirror, and really like what you see. For everything you are. Sand and all! I loved this! Sincerely, Regina |

Shadow974, our fantasies will always be there, they are our hopes and dreams which get us through this life we live. Our mirror reflect our image, one we must grow to like and accept. The mirrored image is not the true person, for we all come from within to greet the day and its people. I enjoyed the read, thank you. Rick |

We need our little escapes, our daydreams, our fantasies. The trick is not to stay there full time. As long as you can maintain the gaze of the man in the mirror you're alright. Great poem. |

Some excellent realizations and descriptions, Dan: Reality sets in The sand stings the eye When I grow old And look back at my life I would like to do it Without a serrated knife I’d like to smile in the mirror And see my heart smiling back Enjoyed this read -- thank you. -MVS "It's all in the details -- the Big Picture always takes care of itself." |
