I see reflections of the past.
The day we met and then our last.
I can't understand why this friendship must end.
Are our ties strong enough, are they able to mend?

So much together we have been through.
You trusted me and I trusted you.
What happened to those kids that played in the park?
The secrets and stories they shared in the dark?

I feel so lost and confused.
Helping friends, but getting used.
But the thought of you not being there
Is just so much more than I can bear.

I need someone who will understand.
To pick me up and to hold my hand.
So let us turn back the hands of time,
And find the friendship we left behind.

Lovely, and I hope you can indeed turn back time. And if you do, let me know how, ok?

I wished I could do that sometime. But nicely expressed.

You don't have a choice to die but you do have a choice how you meet it.

Kay, thank you so much.

ethome, thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it

Sandra, I wish I knew how, but if I figure it out I'll let you know.  Thanks.

MoonDust,  I think we all have second thoughts at one time or another and wished we could go back and do it over again, but differently this time.  Thank you for taking time to read and respond.

Eloise~
Thanks for sharing this~
I think it emphasizes the need we all have for wishing we could maintain friendships long-term~

Forever sounds so nice ... but we all know it doesn't always happen that way.

But like a mirrored image, always receding.

A friendship once so sweet we wish again to meet . . .

You put your heart into that one , great write.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.
