where the sky and horizon meet

0 posted 2001-08-26 12:04 PM

If life were as easy as finding a penny
and choosing whether or not to pick it up
I would not bite my nails over anything
I'd travel along with no fuss

But complicated is this life
and so often I just want to run
hide away from all my problems
find comfort chasing the sun

If I had a choice to be sad or happy
of course I would choose the latter
but life's decisions aren't just that
with other people in your life that matter

So complicated is this life
and so often I just want to run
hide away from all my problems
find comfort chasing the sun

love the rhyme flow of this and that repetative verse worked perfectly to give this its melodics.
A poetic song!!
well done poetess Smitten

Feels like Im dancin with truth and wisdom
Precious rhythm you are my guide
These days are sacred, my heart is humble
Oh warrior show me thy light

SEA~ I think about that too     thanks for sharing!

JM~ I wish I knew how to play the guitar...I think it would be fun and challenging to come up with lyrics *and* a melody!     thanks for the kind words!

Hugs to both of you

Krista, life is one of those ultimate paradoxes and dichotomies -- on the surface (and in its truest core) all things are truly very simple;  yet, when observing the details that constitute them, things inevitably become very complex and complicated...  I hear what you're describing and have been there plenty of times myself, but I still believe that everyone always really does have a choice...  it's just a question of whether or not they have the courage...  Thanks for the thoughts.

You express the feeling well and you do so in such a wonderfully rythmic flow.  This one reads aloud beautifully and it shows true emotion without losing it's flavor.  Great write.

Mark S.~ I do believe you are right.  Everyone really does have the choice when you get down to the basics of a situation...the complications just make it hard by clouding the picture and sometimes then, you'd rather just run away from it altogether.

James~ well read

Mark B.~ thank you for your generous reply!     you're too kind.

Hugs to you boys
