school days in the aughts one room, eight grades two rooms, twelve grades cooperative learning four to seven rooms, one class diversification specialization a century apart family units, unidentifiable, without clear, concise eyes moral and amoral are the group’s ties cards are stacked at random little sense is sometimes found Juan and Johnny cannot read Mary and Maria are led by wanton greed out of economic need in other homes computers reign to feed and to employ the gifts of reams of knowledge for those who may enjoy surfing or browsing on the net the world wide web speaking to pen pals in Africa just before they’re going to bed teachers with tools so diversified and grand strolling through the classroom in the land “for which it stands.” no longer do the students walk to school in holey shoes knee deep in frigid snow now they must be driven with the family babes in tow for lurking in the corners in the alleys, in the streets, just might be a voyeur or child-stealer with deceit then, school days began with sincere prayer now, you’d better pray it long before you’re there for on the way where lines are gray ‘bout right and wrong in verse and song we need His power to save the strong and how much more to save the weak in day to day and week to week |

Oh Virginia! This is so true...how the times have changed! I thank God for private christian schools that still believe in prayer before starting the day! I'm so glad my child will be blessed with this kind of learning! I love this Cindi |

So much has changed with schooling, and with parenting these days. All we can do is have faith that each day, teachers, children, and families may start to see, that all changes are not always for the better. Thanks for sharing your views here.  |
