~*~ On The Other Side Of Loneliness ~*~

On the other side of loneliness,
There's a safe haven just for me.
Whenever I’m feeling lonely,
I soul search down by the sea.

As I walk along the path beneath,
The branches swaying in the breeze,
The sad song sung by the whistling wind,
Somehow always puts my heart at ease.

It whispers out my name so softly,
Then seems to echo off a cloud.
The sea spray embraces me in love,
Wrapping me in its misty shroud.

Above me, a violent, grey velvet sky,
A holding tank of angel's tears and stars.
Beneath me, effervescent sea spray washes,
As I walk humming to the wind's 1,000 guitars.

Moonbeams begin to dance among the clouds,
Ribboning a bright kaleidoscope of color,
Around me the silence becomes deafening,
And still I sit there hour after hour.

On the other side of loneliness,
This place is peace and serenity for me,
Where I allow myself to open up my heart,
And just become one with the sea.

As I see my footprints wash away,
My face is again stained with tears,
As on the other side of loneliness,
I recall all the wasted years.

the last line hit hard
into the holes
inside my soul

-----------
the image of becoming one with the sea and shore is beautiful.... a lovely, inwardly searching pensive piece

Doreen ~ Hi, the last line is what actually causes a lot of the poetry I write, and I am sure many others   and you realize later in life that every second of life is precious to be enjoyed and not wasted.  Thanks for reading this one.

Ok.... I don't get it, only part of my message came through on the last post...
I said, and I repeat... That I've been there on the other side of loneliness... and that you dipped your poetic pen in the saline ocean mist and came up with a heartfelt write. Sharon you are one talented lady...
Love and peace Maggie

Take care and hugs!

Catalina Moon ~ Melissa ~ Rascalx
Sad but true that life passes us by so quickly and sometimes reflecting do we not wonder what we have done with the time? I started making a "happiness journal" and in it I try to put at least 3 things that day that made me happy or someone else - that way I know in some small way that day at least meant something to me or someone else.  My girlfriend started hers 20 years ago, and at least she can count for her time, and it is never to late to start.  Rambling   - Thank you for liking this one and I appreciate you reading it.

ethome ~ Your comment meant a lot to me, as I do try to make the "package"  appealing to the mind, and eye at the same time.  Thank you ever so much.

What a wonderful piece of writing you have given us and how easily I can relate to each and every word.  Much of my writing has been inspired by my love of the sea and nature.
Take care.........Sue

Sue ~ Yes your writings are of the sea and your garden (how's about a new garden one?) I love those, and thanks for reading.
