~~~~The music of her~~~~ He sat there Waiting….. Waiting For her To tell To speak To carry him To that magical peak As she speaks She was silent And he looked at her Praying silently That she would let go Of the music of her A small breath Escaped her And He Shivered Was it the beginning Of a sonata She would soon Set free? What lofty notes She would let him Hear? Would she mind it If he drew near? He has shut off The world The whole world Just to hear her Locked every window Every door So nothing would escape No sound of her Would go astray And not find Its way To his ears To his heart Where every single sound Would be recorded there She started to speak A word Followed by another A note Softly Beckoning For the next And he listened Listened Never knowing The acuteness of his ear Till now That her slight stuttering Would not escape him Her shifting breath Would not go unnoticed He sat there Frozen Eyes locked on her Ears embracing every Utterance Every small note Of the music of her Then….. She sighed And he was lost In a sigh He could not tell If it were The note Of the dying voices In her Or The dirge Of the end Of the music Of her [This message has been edited by MyEnchanted_Melody (edited 08-25-2001).] |
My Melody: ...does this imply what I think it does...? My first read pointed towards a literal piano recital... that gave way to a man hopelessly enamoured by "her", and then, the third read, especially with the ending made me think of the last dying words of a loved one, perhaps even a relative... A very powerful write, as usual, though in a different light this time than I have read in the past of your works... Nevertheless, poignant and indelibly image-laden... -MVS "It's all in the details -- the Big Picture always takes care of itself." |
This is truly wonderful and enchanting indeed, I loved the presentation and the music, but not as much as I loved the love in your words and the capture of feeling, the sense of loss and hoping. A lovely piece. Rick |
This is like watching a clean river water flow surrounded with beautiful landscape. As I was reading, I couldn't help but rooted myself into the image of the person listening. Loved the music and I thought it matched the beauty of the poem. Well done dear. I don't have to reach the stars to enjoy thier glow |
