The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-08-23 10:35 PM

Heartsick nigh unto my death
visions of a past life dream
crushed inanely as it left
nothing slightly as it seemed.

Feverish, cold chills control
heart and body ache with fear
pain which radiates from soul
how could love be so unclear?

Pieces left to kick around
gradually re-form my life
climbing slowly off the ground
finding muse within the strife.

Let forgetfullness fill me
Otherwise I'll not be free.

This is very painful. I hope forgetfulness visits you soon or remembering hurts less.   Well written.

forgetfulness is something that comes slowly. . .but, thankfully. . . it does come. . .

well done Sandra. . .

I sense a certain "depth" to your expressions of late, Sandra, and it seems to propel your art even further than before...  For what it is worth, my opinion is such:  though I completely and whole-heartedly understand the emotions involved in the desire for "forgetfulness", I would adamantly state that it is not forgetfulness which should be desired but Wisdom and Peace -- acknowledgement of what was and what is and a decision to let the past positively contribute to one's growth...  I say this while totally and perhaps hypocritically basking in moments of equal sentiment such as what you have described...  I figure that as long as they are strictly moments and are acknowledged for being just that, then there are no worries -- just expressions and resolutions.  In any case, I am most certainly enjoying your works.
