The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-08-23 07:05 PM

My lover lives in worlds of two
the one with me, the other-you.
Poor choices haunt us both today
but for how long must errors pay?

The one who sets a fire within
How could he be naught but a sin
How much can loving e'er be wrong
My only dreams held in his song.

The nights of lonely, days of gray
Such regrets we didn't stay
way back before it was too late
and now it's all left up to fate.

I say good-bye with logics mind
but back he comes, hearts cannot lie
I hear him whisper on the wind
he calls to me-come home again...

You've gone "deep-sea fishing" here, Sandra -- this requires some wave-gazing to contemplate and comprehend the ripple-effect implied...  I enjoyed this but am not sure I got all the conotations, though on the surface, the water seems treadable...  A resounding "hmmm..."

Home is where your heart is. At least that's what they say. A very emotional tug. The poem is clear in struggle of decision. Between your heart and mind. Those battles are so exhausting. The answer will come. Hang in there.

Sincerely,
Regina

Relate a bit more than I care to admit in the light of day.  You've written it well.
