Getting Older Inspired by Dimon Virginia Salter guess I know I’m getting older wonder just how it will be will my hair go from brown to silver or will it be set forever free will my locks be sleek and silky or will a shine forever glow will the golden threads be woven or to the wind on breezes go will a road map show my travels on my legs from knees to shins will crevices of smiles or angers be on my cheeks, across my chins might a rhythm be forthcoming from my joints and sinew’s folds will my muscles show their weakness in the grips I try to hold what might be the outcome of my living will it show across my face will I be successful giving my aging process bits of grace getting older can be a blessing will it be for me just so when I think of its alternative I’ll get older till I go © September 9, 2000 |

You might get a wee bit older, but your spirit will stay forever young... I enjoyed this, Virginia... |

My Mom use to say: " I can't prevent my body growing old, but I can keep my spirit young" She will be ninety tomorrow, still drives her car and picked up computering a few months ago. Titia A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess... |

Nice work. If I had a choice, I'd be getting younger, but it doesn't seem to be a viable option. Sandra |

I don't know how young you are, but your writing has always been spirited and youthful as it bounces off the page in lovely flow. But as for the visible aging signs, I know that the Downey Wrinkle Free doesn't work on faces, I tried it. I enjoyed! Sincerely, Regina |

Well Virginia, my biological clocks ticks away, but I never wear a watch, so I refuse to look at the time I hang around younger people who keep me feeling younger, it helps trust me! This was a great poem. ~*If you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all*~ hmmm...they were smart whomever said that! |
