Sometimes during the night
when sleep eludes me and
feelings of sadness and loneliness
try to invade my weary mind
I replace these dark thoughts
with lovely images of you

How quickly my mind brings
your face to the fore
It's almost as if I can touch you
as I imagine running my fingers
around your face to feel the
ruggedness of your jaw
Then my fingers move along
to trace around the outline
of your warm inviting lips

My imagination allows me
to be beside you and I see
us together by the beautiful
blue sea where we swim together
on a warm Summer's evening as we
are guided by the light of the moon

My dreams now take me to the
fireside where our bodies are
entwined by the fire's warm glow
as our passions are unfurled
and we succumb to our desires

Sleep has finally claimed me
as I continue to dream of
our perfect love which seems
to have no ending
Dawn arrives all too soon
taking with it this wonderful night
and my sweetest of dreams
