The Maybes My soul ebbs this day Enticed by the dance Of what might have been What if the maybes Had prevailed back then You’d find yourself Filled with regrets Yet again Bitter sweet is reality When what seems best Should never have been Throw your heart out in front of you And run out to catch it. Hi Dan...you touched on something I've been pondering much lately...don't know if I should regret the things I did, or the things I didn't do...either way, I guess I'm a bit wiser for the wear, eh? enjoyed. ![]() |

Hi Dan! Good to stop by again and find another thought-provoker from you. I don't agree with the second stanza, for how can we be sure unless we CHOOSE to be pessemistic and regret -- a choice I made a while back in which not to partake... but I like the last stanza especially, for there is much to ponder there, and there can be an ironic truth to it if indeed "we got what we always had wished for", only to find that we shouldn't have wished for it to begin with. Nice write. -MVS "It's all in the details -- the Big Picture always takes care of itself." |
