What is it that I await
Flipping hoops and scooting clockwise
In wishes. Dreaming of the day
I can hang in mid air pulling
Big Ben's hands behind his head
Taking him hostage. Thinking no
one would pay the ransome
I'd be quite hand..some
In my attempts, but then
I'm not God. I'm just me
So I trot the fox, and skin
the wafer, making everything
Look possible. Anything
Can be done in the Nick of Time
Except thinking. Unless your
mind is clockwork precision
So I'm always late Okay!
If I had a little more Time
I could come up with an excuse
Excuse me while I bake Alaska
It will be ready their time
This time, some time today.

Humorous write, and yes, time sure does run away when we turn our back. I am one who would do anything to hold onto those hands and turn them backwards-for so many reasons.
Nice poem, as always

Beautiful poem rwood, and in a way it is sad that we can't turn back time but father time moves ever forward, some say to fast some say to slow but backwards it can never go.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

Fantastic write, Regina...wonderfully twisting ideas penned perfectly...I truly enjoyed this!

tried to write a letter
to tell you how I feel,
but all I kept on writing
was slipping on the tears from the day...

You know that I'd take the bait with a title and topic such as this, right?  Hello again, Regina -- happy to make a quick visit and find another strong poem from you.  If only there were more time to go around, I could write even more, but suffice to say, you had some moments in here which triggered a couple of contemplations -- something I always enjoy!

Enjoyed the read!
You are right of course, no ransom.
And certainly Nick is no good for writing, either.
Always been fascinated by this puzzle.
Thanks.
