Two Loves If I could I’d give you the world But that would be my world I would enfold you in developing wings And protect you from all ominous things I would embrace you in a love so strong It would last till all the stars Come tumbling down I would buy you many precious gifts Enough to take away all strain I would protect you from the coldest rain I would grant you your every desire I’d be the only one you’d hire I would build bold mansions So you could fill them with you expansions But I wonder Is this love Or is this the smothering of the dove that dwells within you Love to me is a symphony of small treasures Lasting pleasures and memories combined If I meet your every need Will there be room in your heart for me Can it be that love is free Needing no prodding to be seen I will give you some and love you much Because we both need room to grow A smothering and overwhelming love Last but a short time One day you will look back and agree Take in what you can and save it in your heart Love long love strong because now you are free Throw your heart out in front of you |

This was a pleasure to read aloud... your rhyme flow and lines of inner rhyme are well done...and I like the way you break from the more traditional verse structure.. Ive noticed that pattern on several of your poems...your own style, the imagery in this is well done also. a lovely poetic declaration great writing poet sir jm Feels like Im dancin with truth and wisdom |
