Life on the edge

I’ve lived on both sides of the mountain
The leeward side with flowers
Of scarlet and gold
Valleys with streams that restored the soul
The leeward side with pleasures untold

The wayward side with cliffs
Of jagged rocks that cut to the bone
So dry and desolate
That even the cactus’ refuse to grow
Not a drop for the soul

When I was there I was lost and alone

I climbed to the top with help from those who cared
They were all around me but I didn’t know
I have grown

The peak of the mountain I now call home
Not far from heavens door
Not as near the desolate domain as before

I stand and walk near the edge without fear
For life brings us both
They’re always near

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

this is a very cool poem...
clever use of imagery and metaphor as well as perspective, showing the reader the negative and positive and the lessons learned from each.
very well done shadow sir.

Feels like Im dancin with truth and wisdom
Precious rhythm you are my guide
These days are sacred, my heart is humble
Oh warrior show me thy light

Shadow,
This is a wonderful read, I really enjoyed.

"The peak of the mountain I now call home
Not far from heavens door
Not as near the desolate domain as before"

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Wow, so true. Very near us all. And you made it your home! A daily adventure. Enjoyed this so much.
