Just a Substitute |

Just a Substitute Substitute, substitute, never the real thing! Substitute, substitute, how can I end the sting? You were a substitute for all of humankind You were even a substitute for the one within my mind. How did you endure it, how did you cope, how did you stand hanging at the end of Your rope? And, yet, with all my heart I know the truth of You You were more REAL than what I can be or do. If I am called to merely replace the ones who have a spot in this ever present race, To step in for the ill, the maimed or those in pain, what do I do, when I’m covered with the rain? Do I merely reach for you, like the button at my hand that pops my umbrella exactly where I stand? Am I to solely be, as I aim to follow You, one to take the place of the ailing in this zoo? © August 20, 2001 |

Getting ready for school, hey? Well, keep in mind that there is one former student out here [me] that adored her substitute teachers...they only had to tend to us now and then, but the best ones remembered our names inbetween times.... |

Was the capital "Y" significant? If so, then He will answer you. Very interesting and thought provoking write. Thank you, Virginia |

Yes, Interloper, the capital Y is significant. He did answer me long ago, but I keep stupidly trying to change the answer. Guess the manna is just losing its taste. I want to be in His will, but I want to survive with a better taste in my mouth. |
