The Battle Field

Exits lay
Just beyond the
Glass filled
Metal arcades
Like giant
Standing
Pasquinade.

I feel my way
On crutch and pen
Though quick sand of
Empathy’s madness
Of bravados glen
And sadness.

Yet and still
Beyond
This dole
Stays yet
Another
Toll.

Eternity titillates the mind
Flower and fragrant of every kind
How many portals do mortals mast?
To cast the goal of soul at last

Oh my ... this is excellent Sy!  What a wonderful format and rhyme you've penned to capture these sentiments so masterfully, well done!

Best wishes,

The attainment of the knowledge gleaned from the experiences of myriad others, as we do here is both enlightening and maddening. The balance can be precarious to tiptoe through the absorbtion of it all but the end result quite satisfying. Enjoyed.

Seymour, the chaos of conflict brilliantly captured. Very impressive images. Filed safely in my library.

==================================

your poetry is a portal on your soul
and that is a very very worthy goal.
