A noisy sun alarms.
Flashlight in a sleepy campers face.
Soundless train
barrelling down the single track
we share.
Awaken! Make use the day.

Nowhere to hide
I have to be me again.
I try the radio stations
till I find one that fits.

The windshield conspires
with the solar screamer to blind me.

I turn, head south because I must
but convince myself I
escape the blaring glare.

A latin beat, its muted horn
hypnotico, lures me from my
cobra basket of woven woe
and suddenly the sun
is reduced to a spotlight
shared by a smiling senorita
delighted to be singled out
to bailar con los gringo.
White warm fingers whose instant offer
lands the union of soft brown hand.
High heels step purposely around
my pivot and sliding feet which drag
oh so sensually to the last acceptable
moment of the rhythm.
We join one hand, the other
around her waist, a slow stall
amidst the whirl,
her brown eyes in innocence will
follow my lead.
Eyes I fall into.
Eyes which are the world...........

The song ends.
I turn off the car
and labor through the humidity
to the air conditioning
and
other things.

I'm enjoying the rhythms of your work very much. The slowly painted images incorporate very well into a reverie type daydream of poetry. Just beautiful.

Wonderful RSWells!  Hypnotic imagery you've crafted here ... I felt as if I was a part of the scene itself ... beautifully written!

Best wishes,

Ahhh! The rumba works it's magic, anyplace, anytime. A little saucy and rich in sensuality. A great escape from the hum drum. Thank you.

Regina

Excelent write, the music and the girl are right there infront of me. Enjoyed.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.
