The dark clouds came our way so quickly and darkened our sun filled day We were oblivious to the cries overhead from the seagulls as they flew away in search of shelter from the incoming storm We were too engrossed in one another to notice the lightning on the horizon We were making our own electricity Heavy droplets of rain began to pound on our salty skin Only then did we awaken from love's trance and leave our beautiful beach We took refuge under the shelter of a disused boatshed From here we watched how angry Mother Nature had become this day as the waves lashed the shore and the beach became deserted You put your arms around me and held me close to you as we watched our day transform from a perfect sun filled day into a perfect Summer storm Suetang |
