Listening to every heart

0 posted 2001-08-14 11:16 PM

Haiku/Senryu Passings

meadowlarks winging
thrill in their trill still singing
coyotes on the prowl

prairie hens cower
till close of coyote powers
flight to skies of blue

moles and voles dig deep
uncover sanctified ground
spirits dance around

arrows flinted clean
tomorrows told by moonbeam
reverence demands

grasses sway in light
silica diamonds shine
keep all pure to heart

nothing shall be owned
riches are here for the eye
pure souls are enriched

sacred comes the ground
below feet as come along
sacred shall be just

people of nations
still living by immigrants
some come together

all that’s left is earth
mother tongues have divided
to our knees we fall

easy to forget
harder to keep gifts alive
will you listen now

mountains crumbling
thunder coming by desire
funerals pyre

waters divided
join the books that know of one
everything’s been said

snapshots of visions and thoughts, vivid all the way

am wondering if one of the 'thrill's in the meadowlark piece is supposed to be trill

"moles and voles dig deep

Good to see someone not afraid to write about moles and voles.
Enjoyed this.
