They Bug Me
Virginia Salter

Bugs
in the grass
on the phone
in the laundry
in my home


Slugs
be they nickel
be they dime
be they the
slimy, crawly kind


Plugs
in the drainpipe
on the phone
on the telly
in a drone


Hugs
from a grizzly
or a boa
or an asp
from old Balboa


Is there anything my friend
that bugs you far beyond the bends?
