This poem is dedicated to a very special friend of mine...Samantha Kennedy!!! Velvet Butterfly By: Noah Eaton 8/11/01 Sweet butterfly, oh, velvet butterfly Whistle your ballad in the gentle rosemary vale God gave you a name of grace Little Butterfly, may you grow and have angels hail Kaleidoscope whim floods her rainbow wings A candid daughter to angels of the earth Spreading myriads of colors from meadows to the top of the mountain Gracing lilies of the valley, harping bridges of light against a prism hearth A star in broad daylight, taking flight ‘neath azure lagoon skies Like an arrow launched from a fair maidens tower, calling for her prince Sleeping on castles in the sky, true beauty never feigned Her heart sings with miraculous beauty, crowned in married bliss Damasked in the sunlight, flittering sunbeams in an arbitrary dreamscape Surpassing beauty adorned in dandelion and autumn-leave robes May your voice be your beautiful intimacy And every chance you get, let your wings be aflame in dance and soul Sweet butterfly, oh, velvet butterfly He gave you this sweet name May all you meet be admired by your loveliness Little Butterfly, may today be another sunny day |
