You lead me to believe There was a safety in your smile Only to learn deceit Is easily filtered through batting eyes You've mocked me with promises Which became twisted lies Snaking with venom Poison words Left lingering on your tongue Left whispering in my ear Dreams left to the wayside Disgarded Because it suited you Your situation became priority My hopes were dashed I was shadowed by despair A lesson learned Never to be fooled again By batting eyes lost in thought, found in words. |
