arose from lamp by belly stroke. "Wish wisely." He said this with a smile. His eyes were cold with Temptor's wile. To you, I give, three wishes grant. Of two, just one can be undone by wishing for reverse of sun." for all the treasure dreamt to take. All the gifts of every land were mine for asking--my command. that sparkled gold in greedy fill; with crystal roads that led to door and servant's trays that spilled with more. from lifetime spent...upon my knees. Never daring eyes that greet and all my tears, in wash of feet. He saw my thoughts. He smiled through me. "Tell me, how much will you need? What is capacity of greed?" was chattel of a golden yoke. How heavy laden riches bind in thread of finest gold--refined. the magnitude of my mistake... Humility upon the floor, as he grinned: "Still want more?" "All my flesh be crucified. Always something, to placate-- the burn of yearn in satiate." He softened, crooned "most carefully..." But I knew what must be done. My second wish reversed the sun. and my life became the same. Sometimes within, at times with not-- but grateful for the things I'd got. "Just one more to ask of me. Tell me what it is you'd be. "Choose," he warned. "Choose carefully." and saw how quickly I became all that I did once despise and then I stared at Genie's eyes: Always, I've been there, encamped... just awaiting what you'd do-- should you be granted wishes true." From the lamp, he poured fine wine-- nectar from the God's own sup and bade me drink till I filled up. intensity of liquid time. My lips were limber--almost filled-- and then I choked: "I want free will. nothing more but taunt of rant. Genie take your magick spell-- begone with you to depths of hell. For my last wish? RETURN TO LAMP." [This message has been edited by serenity (edited 08-11-2001).] |

Of two, just one can be undone by wishing for reverse of sun." ================================ I crumbled then, beneath the weight-- the magnitude of my mistake... Humility upon the floor, as he grinned: "Still want more?" I replied in sigh of why: "All my flesh be crucified. Always something, to placate-- the burn of yearn in satiate." "Second wish," smiled He to me. He softened, crooned "most carefully..." But I knew what must be done. My second wish reversed the sun. All the gold returned to vein-- and my life became the same. Sometimes within, at times with not-- but grateful for the things I'd got. ======================================= AHHH my sweet POEtess twin... do you know how damn COOL this poem is???? what the Raven was to Poe the Genie has become to serenity... this is awesome K... the whole thing..from conception to completion...you ROCK. that reversal of the sun inspire? ... way cool baby...WAY me I know no one is to blame |

"All my flesh be crucified. Always something, to placate-- the burn of yearn in satiate." Damn this was amazing, I think you wished a fourth wish, to have golden words of poetry flow from your pen. shadows flicker sweet end tame |

Thanks to all. I just got to thinking about what it was I truly valued--and this came pouring out. And laughing to myself, cause Marge? Brilliance? HA! You should have seen how many edits I did to get this just centered...hardly brilliant, but thanks anyhow. HUGS and LOVE to you all. |

Read much like a disconcerting fairytale. Not an easy thing to accomplish in a balanced way. Tell us another? |
