A Love In The Past It seems like forever Since I felt your love Yet the pain can still cut As if it happened moments ago Most of my rational self, my mind Know things are how they should be You taught me love to love honestly Unconditionally with no boundaries Through he heartache you showed me How strong I actually am My heart knows we weren’t meant to be Still it crumbled at the pain, striking so deep Now sometime later it is almost whole Bound tightly by a new and stronger love I’m grateful for being loved by you Even as I licked my open and raw wounds I would not trade the past And even knowing the pain to come I still would have opened my soul to you You taught me so much in the time we shared And for a moment in a life time You offered the most precious gift of all Love. Nicely written piece. I could feel your pain through your line. Love is something to be charished and it takes a long time before it is not on your mind a lot. Throw your heart out in front of you |
